Scanning for Pitt Faculty, Students, and Staff

Need an article or chapter from a book that’s not online?

If it’s in print format in one of our libraries and you need it right away you can scan it yourself using one of our self-service scanners or request the article or book chapter from any materials found in the University Library System (does not include Health Sciences Library System or Law) and we will scan the pages and email them to you (limit of 5 requests per person/day).

How to request scanned material:

  1. Search for the item in PittCat Classic
  2. Select the full record for the journal or book
  3. Click the Request this Item link on the right-hand side of the screen
  4. Enter your University Computing Account (email) username and password and click the Login button
  5. Select article or book chapter and follow the instructions. Expect a response via your Pitt email.

US Copyright law may restrict materials we scan and distribute.
