Individual chapters are devoted to a chronology of the composer's life and works, his correspondence, biographical sources, critical studies, production/review sources, and singers and theatres. A discography and videography is included.

David L. Rosenberg Archivist, UE Archives and Labor Collections Pittsburgh in Revolt: Sources and Artifacts of the Struggle Against Deindustrialization. Article to appear in Pennsylvania History Summer 2001 pp. 363-378. Abstract: This article describes the collections that may be found in the Archives Service Center and especially the Labor Collections related to the wave of plant closings in the Pittsburgh region in the 1980's. I give an overview of the efforts of grassroots groups and other institutions to attempt to avert or cope with the destruction of basic industry. I append a list of the relevant collections.
