Overdue Fines and Fees (per item)
|Faculty||$.25 day/$100.00 maximum*|
*After an item is overdue for 45 days, or the maximum fine is reached, the borrower is billed for fines, replacement, and processing fees. If overdue fines reach $25.00 or an item goes to LOST status, the user's borrowing privileges are suspended/blocked.
Recall Overdue Fines (per item)
|Faculty||$1.00 day/$100.00 maximum|
Materials to be put in Course Reserves are subject to immediate recall. Recalled items have a shortened loan period. If you plan to be out of town, it is recommended that library materials be returned prior to travel.
Overdue fines can be paid at the Haskell Library Circulation desk or mailed to the Library. Send payment of fines/fees payable to the University of Pittsburgh to the address below:
University of Pittsburgh at Titusville
504 East Main St.
Titusville, PA 16354
Borrower's privileges will be suspended/blocked when fines reach $25.00 or an item borrowed goes to LOST status. A block at one University Library System (ULS) Library will be treated the same at all ULS Libraries. Please renew or return your library materials on or before the due date.
The library e-mails overdue notices to the borrower's Pitt e-mail account as a courtesy only. The University Libraries are NOT responsible for non-delivery or delayed delivery of the notices due to e-mail/technical problems. The first overdue notice is sent after the items are due. The fifth notice is sent 45 days after the due date, at which time the patron's borrowing priviledges are suspended. When overdue library materials are returned, the online library system generates a notice for the total amount of fines and this is e-mailed to the patron. If the materials are not returned, the item is eventaully designated "Lost" and a bill is created and sent to the borrower. This bill includes replacement costs, fines owed, and processing fees for each item Lost.
