With continued support from the Center for Philosophy of Science, the Archives of Scientific Philosophy intends to build a premier collection for the study of logical positivism, logical empiricism, and related aspects of scientific philosophy. To this end the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Konstanz have entered into a promising archival partnership. Under the terms of this collaboration, Pittsburgh and Konstanz are making available to each other copies of their respective archival holdings on scientific philosophy so far as pre-existing obligations permit. Both universities will continue to acquire pertinent materials that can be duplicated and deposited at the other institution. Archival processing and preservation efforts will be coordinated in order to afford scholars on both sides of the Atlantic greater accessibility to the documentary legacy of the twentieth century's most important philosophical movement. At present microfilm copies of the Carnap, Reichenbach, Ramsey, and Feigl Collections are available for use at Konstanz.
The Archives of Scientific Philosophy welcomes information about material that might be added to its holdings. Besides acquiring new collections, the Archives is eager to complete those thinkers' correspondence whose papers it already owns. Financial contributions to help realize the Archives' collection development objectives will, of course, also be much appreciated.
