This display was put together using familiar and lesser known imagery from the sixteen Oz books L. Frank Baum wrote as well as the movie, The Wizard of Oz, which spawned an assortment of memorabilia and products. Created to grab the viewer’s attention and to introduce the fact Baum wrote an entire series of Oz books after the Wizard of Oz, the display takes you from the monotone landscape of reality, over the rainbow to a unique world of flying monkeys, magic silver slippers, and wicked witches. Items included in the display were from the Nesbitt room or generously loaned by Stephen Mahofski. Display was compiled by Rachel E. Cannon.
