Overview
The East Asian Library has approximately 259,000 volumes of Chinese, 122,000 volumes of Japanese, 9,000 volumes of Korean and some English language materials, plus over 900 titles of periodicals (over 50,000 volumes bound) published in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and the United States.
In addition, it holds about 12,700 reels of microfilms, and over 26 current newspapers, over 2,100 CD-ROMs, about 1,300 Video/audio tapes, 1,700 DVDs, and 10 major area studies online databases.
The Collection is particularly strong in classics, history, religion, art, language, folk culture, and literature. The collection is also strong in contemporary China and Japan, in such areas as Chinese economy, Chinese Communist Party, Japanese company histories, and Korean reference and primary sources.
