Q: When do you cite?
A: You need to cite the source of your information if you do any of the following:
  • Use the exact words or unique phrases from somewhere or someone.

  • Use or refer to somebody else's words or ideas from a magazine, book, newspaper, song, TV Program, movie, Web Page, letters, conversations or e-mails.

  • Reprint any diagrams, illustrations, statistics, charts, or pictures

  • Use any information that is not "common knowledge."
