Textual collections consist of primarily of historical monographs, serials, manuscripts, pamphlets, etc. that can be viewed and searched by keyword. Some of these collections include other type of material.

Dick Thornburgh Papers: The Dick Thornburgh Papers digital collection includes an extensive online guide to the personal papers documenting the life and career of Pennsylvania's 44th Governor (1979-1987) and Attorney General of the United States (1988-1991). The site is fully searchable and includes a selection of downloadable audio-visual material as well as over 40,000 textual documents. |

George Washington Manuscripts: The first shots of the French and Indian War were fired in western Pennsylvania in 1754. They came from troops under the command of a young officer by the name of George Washington.
