Aerial Photographs of Pittsburgh Twenty-one images from 1923- 1932 give impressive views of Downtown, Mount Washington, the North Side, the Point, Oakland, and Homestead as well as several industrial locations. |

Allegheny Conference on Community Development Contains 1,123 images from 1875 to 1981 showing the construction and destruction of many Pittsburgh structures and buildings. The selected images exemplify themes of rebirth, modernization, and quality of life improvements for the Pittsburgh region during the post-World War II Renaissance period. |

The Darlington Family online collection contains 155 photographs taken by Edith Dennison Darlington Ammon and her brother, O'Hara Darlington, from 1885 through 1888. Lillian Friedberg Postcard Collection This image collection contains postcard images (1933-1945) from the Friedberg Papers. The earliest postcards, those from the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair, depict a world full of promise and prosperity, despite being set during the nation’s worst depression. The later postcards, all pertaining to World War II, tell a much different story through propaganda generated by the British Royal Air Force, French Resistance. |

Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad Company The Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad Company online collection contains images from 1886 through 1971 showing various branch lines that were controlled by the New York Central from 1883 through 1968, and then by Penn Central. The images also document many non-railroad activities and scenes in urban and rural areas of Western Pennsylvania's Allegheny, Beaver, Fayette, Lawrence, and Washington counties, as well as in some of the bordering counties of West Virginia and Ohio. |

The photographs portray strikers from US&S, and several other Westinghouse plants, marching in the streets of Swissvale in June 1914. There are also photographs of company management, including Superintendent George H. Pfeil, and non-striking workers in the plant as well as a copy of a strike bulletin. |
