to Sponsor Presentation and Book Signing for Pennsylvania Wilds
The drama of Pennsylvanias Allegheny National Forest unfolds over millions of years, not in decades or even centuries, writes Lisa Gensheimer in Pennsylvania Wilds: Images from the Allegheny National Forest (Forest Press, 2006). It is set in motion by a unique chain of geologic events that will shape the landscape and all human history that follows.

That history will come to life in a public presentation and book signing
on Wed., April 11, at 7 p.m. at the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford
in the Mukaiyama Room of the Frame-Westerberg Commons when Gensheimer
and photographer Ed Bernik recap their 18-month journey through the
forests past and present. Listeners will come face-to-face with
wildcatters and lumber barons, conservationists and archaeologists
as they take a virtual tour of one of the last wild places in the
East.
Pennsylvania Wilds: Images from the Allegheny National Forest
has earned numerous awards, including the top award of excellence
from the Pennsylvania Federation of Museums and Historical Organizations.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event.

The illustrated program will be of interest to book lovers, conservationists,
recreation enthusiasts, historians, and the general public. A book
signing with the authors will follow. The program is being hosted
by The Friends of the Hanley Library and The Friends of the Bradford
Area Public Library.
