General Form for Articles from Periodicals

Author, A. A., Author, B. B., & Author, C. C. (year). Title of article. Title of Periodical, volume number, page number-page number.

Journal Article - continuous pagination - 1 author

Ruffman, T. (1999). Children's understanding of logical inconsistency. Child Development, 70, 872-886.

Journal Article - journal paginated by issue - 2 authors

Monit, E. J., & Tingen, M. S. (1999). Multiple paradigms of nursing science. Advances in Nursing Science, 21(4), 64-80.

Journal Article - continuous pagination - 3 or more authors

Woolley, J. D., Phelps, K. E., Davis, D. L., & Mandell, D. J. (1999). Where theories of mind meet magic: The development of children's beliefs about wishing. Child Development, 70, 571-587.

Newpaper Article - No author
Abbreviate p. (page) or pp. (pages) to preceed the page number(s) in a citation for a newspaper article. Do not include this abbreviation in citations for other types of sources.

Book

Include the state or country after the city only if the city is not well known or could be confused with another city. Give the name of the publisher in as brief a form as is intelligible.
