Description:
World News Connection (WNC) is an online news service that offers an extensive array of translated and English-language news and information. Particularly effective in its coverage of local media sources, WNC provides you with the power to identify what really is happening in a specific country or region. Compiled from thousands of non-U.S. media sources, the information in WNC covers significant socioeconomic, political, scientific, technical, and environmental issues and events. Translations on WNC are also known as Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS) Daily Reports. For earlier FBIS reports, the library also has paper and microfiche holdings dating back to 1972. Ask at the Hillman Library Reference Desk for assistance. Also see the FBIS Daily Reports Database for electronic access to full-text reports from 1974-1996. The paper and microfiche subscriptions were ended by FBIS in 1995. FBIS is available from 1995 are available electronically through World News Connection.
