Description:

The Index of Christian Art is the largest archive of materials on Early Christian and Medieval Iconography. It documents Christian art from early apostolic times to 1400 AD with no geographic limitations.

Seventeen different media are represented including manuscripts, metalwork, sculpture, painting, glass, etc. Provides more than 150 searchable categories of information along with catalog information such as artist's name, title of work, medium, provenance and extensive bibliographic citations.
